Delta Infecting All, But Killing
Unvaccinated
Dr. Kevin Kavanagh from
Health Watch USAsm discusses the need for all to wear masks, practice
social distancing and become vaccinated. The Delta Variant is commonly
causing symptomatic breakthrough infections. Israeli data shows the
Pfizer vaccine has a 39% effectiveness in preventing infection and a 40%
effectiveness in preventing symptomatic infections. They are very good
at preventing hospitalizations, and severe COVID-19 (along with death),
with an 88% and 92% efficacy respectively. Those who have a breakthrough
vaccine infection can spread the virus as easily as those who are
unvaccinated and have an infection. The Delta variant produces up to

Updated information regarding the CDC's report on the Cape Code outbreak
indicates the Israeli data may be over optimistic.
